Register Now for Leadership PD Online in September

Teacher leaders, literacy coaches, instructional leaders, administrators — this is your opportunity to study, practice, reflect and improve upon the ways you support and sustain Reading Apprenticeship implementation at your school. Reading Apprenticeship meets ESSA standards for Strong Evidence, but in order to realize the teaching and learning outcomes that earned us this distinction, your educators need supportive leaders who have a strong understanding of the challenging work they are undertaking.

So get online September 9 and dive into literacy leadership with colleagues and our expert facilitator over twelve weeks this fall and winter. You will: 1) build new ways to create communities of practice that sustain a student-centered culture of literacy; 2) learn how to use formative assessment to promote teacher and student growth; and 3) inquire into real cases of the many ways leaders, schools and districts have supported teacher development and student learning with Reading Apprenticeship.

The main course text, Leading for Literacy: A Reading Apprenticeship Approach, provides clear, on-the-ground guidance, tools, and examples for improving student reading across secondary schools and colleges. This companion to the landmark Reading for Understanding guides teacher leaders, coaches, and administrators through the nuts and bolts of implementing the Reading Apprenticeship Framework.
