High quality professional learning, both in-person and online, that supports teachers across all subject areas to help students:
- Read a broad range of complex academic and workplace texts

WestEd will Provide:
- Initial assets and needs review prior to the beginning of professional learning
- For classroom teachers: two years of Reading Apprenticeship professional learning to integrate and accelerate students’ subject area learning and literacy
- In-person: 2 consecutive days Summer 2024, 1 day between December 2024 and February 2025, and 2 consecutive days Summer 2025
- Online: 3 two-hour sessions in Fall 2024 and 3 two-hour sessions in Spring 2025
- CEUs will be provided for participation in all professional development activities
- For teacher leaders: additional professional learning to support on-site classroom implementation
- For site leaders: professional learning to support schoolwide implementation in order to grow and sustain literacy gains
- Annual project-wide leadership meeting

Stipend Information
Stipend eligible participants include teachers who anticipate that they will independently teach at least one section of mainstream ELA, history, and science classes that enroll 5 or more 9th-10th grade students in a typical year during the 2024-25 school year
The stipend total is $700 and will be distributed in Summer 2025.
Stipends will be sent in the form of a check from WestEd. Stipends will be pro-rated based on completion of professional learning and data collection
activities.
