College Summer Program Kicks Off

Next week we are kicking off our Reading Apprenticeship summer program for college educators with the three day Cross-Discipline Faculty Seminar in the WestEd Oakland office. We’ve spent the last year developing new content and adding to our library of student and classroom video cases which will be featured in all of the summer 2016 professional development sessions.

This year we are excited to announce a brand new seminar, Reading Apprenticeship for First Year Experience. Registered participants will spend three full days at Cal Poly Pomona learning how to embed Reading Apprenticeship into a First Year Experience course and/or summer bridge program. Registration for the FYE seminar also includes access to online follow-up sessions where participants can go in-depth with their colleagues, learning how to use Reading Apprenticeship in STEM-specific summer bridge and/or FYE courses, how to embed Reading Apprenticeship in tutor training and tutoring settings, how to utilize ePortfolios, and more!

We are looking forward to welcoming participants from across the country this summer to introduce, explore, and deepen knowledge of Reading Apprenticeship! For more information about our summer offerings, visit our College Professional Development Overview.
