10th Anniversary of Higher Ed Offerings

In 2007, we launched the first Reading Apprenticeship professional development institute designed specifically for college instructors. Since that institute, over 1500 college instructors have taken up Reading Apprenticeship nationwide and discovered how to empower the students on their campuses. Our professional development opportunities have grown as well. This past year we offered seven unique opportunities for college instructors to learn how to apprentice students in academic reading and problem-solving strategies across the disciplines.

Next month, we will kick-off the new year and our 10th anniversary with our popular introductory online courses for college instructors, Faculty 101 and STEM Faculty 101. Discover our unique “Making it Real” assignments, where participants try a routine with students each week and then share their experience with their facilitator and classmates for immediate feedback. Winter sessions begin January 16.

Those who have already completed Faculty 101 or our in-person College 3-day seminar should consider enrolling in Campus Coach. The 8-week online course will deepen participants’ own Reading Apprenticeship practice as well as support their development as campus leaders for literacy improvement. The next session of Campus Coach begins March 13.
